About

Dear APOS reader,

We all have something to say because those of us who are reading this are alive. We see writing as an act of reverence. The act of documenting- capturing a moment, a message- a feeling- imbues our lives with a grounding presence.

We come to understand ourselves better, and in reading the poetry of others, become more and more in touch with our humanity. We begin to see overlaps in the fabric that constitutes our human experience.

You may feel like an island right now, or you may feel smothered and drowned out by those around you, or you may feel like everything is right in the world. Whatever you're feeling, we hope you find something that speaks to you on APOS.

APOS stands for A Poet Once Said. It is a collection of works submitted by you, APOS readers. Here's how our process works:

  • We select 6 poems each week to feature on our website and across our social channels.
  • Anonymous submissions are signed 'APOS.'
  • We encourage you to submit as many poems as you like, because your work may be featured in the future.

Happy writing, happy reading, and as a poet once said, "What will your verse be?"

With love,

APOS
